A community of tugboat enthusiasts were in need of a functioning webpage where members could share information.
The client wanted to modernize their site. It needed to be appealing and easy to navigate by their target audience (age 50+) and allow an RTA volunteer with limited web skills to update the site with ease.
In addition, the site needed to allow members to login and post information about themselves and their boats, post comments on a blog, have discussions using a forum, and list and view items through a classifieds section.
Our team of three designers and one developer redesigned and developed a new site.
The site was implemented in WordPress to allow the client to easily make updates. Several customized WordPress plug-ins were installed to allow members to post content to a member roster, boat roster, forum, and classifieds.
A Client Staging Area was created to ensure clear communication and share progress with the client.
The client loves their new site! Members find it easy to use and are active on the site.
This was my first experience working on a web team. It was both challenging and rewarding.
